Jesus and Angels

I'm a little late getting this post up this week but I've been up to my eyeballs in Christmas shopping and wrapping and such.  The really good news is, I think I'm done!  At least with the shopping part.

First I showed y'all my Christmas redbirds, then we moved on to good ol' St. Nick and the jolly little elves.  This week it's all about the real reason for this season, which is, of course, the birth of Jesus Christ.

I love my heavenly Christmas angels and cherubs too and thought they fit in best here with Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the wisemen...

And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with fear.  And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord"

And going into the house they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts,
 gold and frankincense and myrrh

And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes
 and lying in a manger

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!” “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”

  1. Quite a collection you have there. And don't remind me about all of the wrapping I have to do. Haven't even started yet!

  7. I love your wooden nativity! I also love glass angel ornaments... they way they catch the light. Our church does a Joy Gift program every year and as part of it, the children make ornaments representing the different elements of the Christmas story and then decorate a tree which is delivered to an nursing home.

This year, because we're traveling, our tree is small and decorated mostly with the extra ornaments the kids brought home... I've never had a tree that so well represents the Christmas story... I'm LOVING it!
