Turns out we got luckier than I realized during those 'hailacious' storms that rolled through here Monday night.
These photos were taken at my inlaws' house.
There was another huge tree down over the creek in the woods behind the house but we were about to be late for baseball practice so there was no time for a traipse down through the woods...

This is right behind their house, that was thankfully spared. |
I don't even know how that picnic table is still standing. |
The truck miraculously seems to be spared too. |
Cleaning up! |
And the swing remains unharmed... Sweet. |

WOW. Storms can do so much damage. I'm glad things weren't any worse, and most importantly, that no one was hurt!
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to believe that it spared all those things around it.
ReplyDeleteIt's really bizarre how something so monstrous can be uprooted completely like that!
Yes, WOW - glad your place (and theirs) came out ok
ReplyDeleteThat's unbelievable. Glad you are ok.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness- talk about a close call!
ReplyDeleteThat's what it looked like around our house. But, nobody was hurt. I'm definitely thankful!
ReplyDeleteYikes! We got hit around 4 am. Since I was up, it seemed like a smart idea to register for the Weather Call.
ReplyDeleteGlad everyone is okay. The picture of swing reminds me of the stories my dad used to tell me about when a tornado would go through near his base in MO. One side of the street would be devastated and on the other, the rocking chairs would be rocking in the breeze on the porch.
Wow! That is a little scary. But the positive thing is that the men got to cut something up with a chainsaw!
ReplyDeleteGlad everyone was safe! My grandmother's house was not so lucky last year... it's a scary thing!
ReplyDeleteWow! What a storm! Thankfully their house was left untouched!
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by my blog. Your story is the EXACT type of story I was referring to...I just don't get it! But it is SO amazing to see the "other side" and see your prespective after such an unimaginable tragedy. I look forward to following your journey! :)
Oh my goodness! I am so happy that the truck, house and swing and more importantly all of you were fine. I hope there are no more storms my friend. Have a good day!
ReplyDeleteMama Hen
Oh wow. How destructive can Mother Nature be?
ReplyDeleteGlad everyone is safe and well.
Oh my goodness! I'm glad you all were spared. What a big cleanup though!
