Day 18, Four-Leaf Clovers in Books

Since I was a little girl I've been able to spot four-leaf clovers with no more than a glance. The majority of my books probably have at least one pressed between the pages and I think I get more of a thrill out of rediscovering them there than I do the first time, in the patch. My heart always does this little magical flip when I open up a book and happen upon one.

It happened just the other day, in an old book I found in a thrift/antique store a few years ago, not long after I started blogging. You can read the post I wrote about it back in March of 2010 here. The reason I plucked the book off the shelf the other day was because I was really feeling discouraged in this 31 day challenge, thinking of quitting and searching for any and all inspiration I could possibly find.

And right there it was, in the first book I opened.

So I guess I'm gonna keep at it.

  1. I'm reading your every post, and am enjoying each and every one of them! I'm glad you're going to keep at it! By the way, something magical happened on my end, the very evening after I read your newly posted writing on finding a dime, I believe it was, in remembrance of your beloved dog. I had gone to get the load of laundry from the dryer, and there I found a quarter dated 1969 - my birth year. Ironic. Then, while getting ready for bed, I realized I had to take a couple coins out of my jeans pocket that I had shoved in there earlier while I had been out shopping. Yep, there in my hand was yet another quarter.....and it, too, was dated 1969! I immediately shared the story with my husband, who, by the way, is usually the one who finds the quarters with either his or my birth year on the them, often together in the same day! We just smiled. In fact, one year he actually made me a keychain with our birth year quarters, my year sandwiched in between two of his. :) To some people, an incident like yours or ours might not register to signify anything to them.....but, like you, I DO believe that little things like this are little "miracles" from God, just to let us know He's there, that He has His eye on us, and that we matter to Him!

    1. Glad you are enjoying the posts. Thank you so much for reading! Yep, He is always there giving us little encouraging signs throughout our days and it is absolutely magical when we become aware enough to pick up on them. Love the keychain idea. What a thoughtful husband!
